It's going to be fun seeing future contrite and humble posts like, "Gosh, I was so wrong when I said GW1 was dead. I was totally mistaken, as shown by X, Y, and Z."
And yeah, I know some will never show the magnitude of character to say that sort of thing. But the rest of us can still look back, remember, and smile.

I quickly scanned this and saw X,Y, and Z.. and got excited that GW2 might actually have a third dimension.
Then I realized the coders of GW are pathetic, and then decided to cut my arm off.

Its already been mentioned many times that GW2 is going to have a Z-axis in the game engine... We know we can jump in it for instance

You fail at flaming Gaile. Next time save yourself the embarrassment and don't even try.
@Gaile
It will be nice when that happens but sadly I doubt it ever will since most people are too proud or stupid to admit they could even be wrong.

No offence, but could you please actually list or quote all sources, just putting your view on it without any supporting quotes/evidence amounts to bullshit.

I care far more about the current cooperative action RPG (GW) than I do about the future MMO (GW2).

Gaile,
I agree that ANet is going to do things with GW1 to keep certain players around. Do I think they are going to fix things or make things fair to all players - no. I broke away for 9 months in protest to things that started as far back as before Factions was released - after checking back in I find partial fixes or changes of policy on all of the major objections. They shouldn't have had to happen in the first place. But other things have been broke, and won't be fixed. That is what most people mean by GW1 is dead. No matter the new content coming for GWEN, or the skill balances and nerf bat swinging, there will remain those things about which nothing will be done because the focus is now only on keeping around enough elites to promote the new game.
Armors that don't work or aren't worth purchasing/farming for (Masks, Sunspear Elite Mes, etc.)
Drop rates that absolutely suck and penalize casual players.
The proferrence of an outsource mod for Cart title because GW doesn't want to bother making something functional for legitimate players.
The treatment of casual players as unworthy of being entertained with things that appeal to them unless they convert to being L33tness addicts.
Rits being Air Spikers because Ele's are useless in comparison.
Dervish leaving warriors behind as little boy guards for the club house.
The things I really hope GW2 corrects are:
Support the Player's interest in being entertained with the appearance and persona they enjoy.
Expansive coordination of skin styles so that the interaction of classes, weapons, and armor can more acurately reflect the players expression.
Expansive skill sets that are for specific class combinations (Warrior/Mes skill list, Ele/Rt skill list, etc.) as well as the traditional att skills.
Equal treatment between PvP and PvE (such that PvE players only have to get their skills once just like PvP players).
Avoids the prejudice against Ouslanders/Furiners that is expressed at the beginning of missions and denial of quests.
Prevents the incentive to ebay for gold that exists because of the suppression of achievement through reasonable effort.
Prevents the destruction of classes (like the monk) which has had to be nerfed into complacency because of the healing connection. (If all classes could heal, then the monk could function as a healer by choice instead of being nerfed into it because being able to heal and do damage is just to nifty for farming - but then if the economy had been well structured to begin with farming would not have been necessary to get Everything and botting would never have been an issue.)
GW has been excellent for ease of skill execution and movement. It has been excellent for terrain graphics. It has expressed multicultural environments in theme, plot, and wording.

Flaming Gaile? I was trying to do nothing of the sort. I'm scared of her snapping and having to take a vacation from Guru, again.

Kk question, do you just go on these forums to spam 2000+ posts on your opinion on how you don't like GW or something...? It's not like I go on WoW forums and start spamming it up there.
GW is not dead lol, but somethings should be done to keep its popularity up over the years.

yeah, i wouldn't mind it being delayed for some more content,
never gave my response,
hopefulyl anet will pull through, the HoM was the only real snag for me.fixed it a bit, pity it had to be one of the last things of Gw1.
2 years is alot of time,so hopefully it'll be the game we're expecting.

How does having a Z-axis automatically mean it will have anything to do with the 360?

Because coding a server infrastructure with the complexity and moduality of what Guild Wars has now is something a child can do, right?

Not that this thread, or any like it, will have any noticeable effect...
Anyways, if things went the way I would prefer, Guild Wars 2 would be delayed for as long as it took to (not necessarily in this order):
1) Fix most/all the bugs & graphical errors in Guild Wars.
2) Properly balance Guild Wars, for all levels of play.
3) Release a quality game when the time for Guild Wars 2 comes - this includes no graphical issues, proper balance, complete game environment, and lack of and/or rapid fixing of all bugs.

I really love all the doom and gloom being portrayed for GW1 because of GW2. If other massive online RPGs are any indication GW1 actually has better odds of outliving GW2.

People like me *have* done that Gaile. For example, I strongly criticized the "nerf" to Soul Reaping, and then (after testing) vocally and publicly admitted I was wrong and that the change was just fine.
You often state absolutes -- remember telling us "ANet sees no reason to change favor", as just one example? Favor did, indeed, change. You also said that no change was needed in Razah's acquisition, but it certainly was changed, wasn't it?
Have you said all your mea culpas? Don't demand from us what you haven't done -- and don't lie about whether or not others have admitted when they were wrong.
At this point, I don't see any point in playing GW1, since ANet's current idea of "content" is to ask people to repeat the same things in the same places.
Please, go ahead and change my mind! I'd love to love GW1 again. I'll be more than happy to say I was wrong.
But right now, you've shown me nothing concrete that suggests GW1 has any life left in it for me.
